Trinity Electric Lady
Ministry
Thanks for taking the time to find out about my Music Ministry,
who I am and my walk with Christ.
First I would like to say that my Husband John and I are both Born-Again, Spirit-Filled, Daily Bible Reading Christians. Hey! Wait a minute, come back, where you going? Just kidding of course. An opening line like this sometimes scares a person especially if they’re a non-believer and they turn around and run for the hills never looking back.
Stick around, read a little more, get to know our hearts, listen to my Songs, read the Lyrics and find that there’s no prejudice here toward anyone for any reason. We believe that “There ‘Aint Nobody that’s too far gone!” You can have a new life in Jesus no matter what you’ve done or who or where you’ve been.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life”
One of my Favorite Scriptures in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13:8 “Love Never Fails.” This has become what I call my Life Scripture. I try my best to share the Heart of Christ in all circumstances. We really love people and this is the very best we have to give.
Wow! That’s a strong opening line what’s it all mean?
Well, being Born-Again is when you confess your sins to the Lord no matter how terrible you think they are or how Un-Forgivable you think you might be (you will be forgiven), dedicate yourself to turning from those sins (asking for forgiveness not planning to turn back), ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and change you and show you what His will is for your life, start reading the Bible daily for a better understanding of His unconditional love for you and how you are such a treasure to Him that He took the time to make you the unique, individual Jewel that you are. There is only one of you and you’re His precious Child.
Romans 10:9-11
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
If you’re having any doubts that he’s real, but you’d really like to find out, just pray “Jesus I don’t know if you’re real, but if you are real, come into my heart and change me, open my Heart, open my Mind. Get into the Bible and don’t worry about not being able to understand it, don’t worry about the fact that people have called it “Old Wives Tales”, “The Old Ways”, “Fantasy” or “Man’s Interpretations” etc. Just Pray and ask if the Bible is truly the Word of God, and if God is real, that He will reveal the truth to you.
John 16:13
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.
John 17:17
Sanctify them by the truth; your Word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
I mentioned above that we are also Spirit-filled. Spirit-filled is being baptized in the Holy Spirit. This is also referred to as praying in tongues. This is when God gives you a personal prayer language that the Bible describes is the most perfect way to pray. In the New Testament the Book of Jude Chapter 20 says: But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Praying in the Spirit or praying in tongues is not crazy or kooky. It’s very real. When you pray in the Holy Spirit you are building yourselves up in your most holy faith meaning you’re becoming a more mature believer in Christ.
Daily Bible readers?
Oh No! Doesn’t that mean you’re gonna judge us or something? Quite the opposite. Reading the Bible since I was a child has actually softened my heart and has given me a deeper love and understanding of my fellow man and of all living beings. True believers in Christ should live to share the heart of Christ with others and strive to befriend rather than condemn. There’s nothing wrong with being discerning but it’s only God’s right to judge. Jesus died for each and every one of us great or small, big or tall, black or white, young or old, rich or poor. We are all eternal. This is our Spiritual inheritance. Please remember that God hates only the sin but forever loves ALL of his sons and daughters.
John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Music Ministry vs. Las Vegas Fame?
It’s a long detailed story so here’s the short version…
You were a well-respected, well-known Las Vegas performer who audiences called the female Hendrix working on a long-time contract with the Hard Rock with offers from Caesar’s Palace and the House of Blues etc. Why give that up for Music Ministry?
By the time I was well-established as Trinity Electric Lady I had played just about every respectable venue you could play in Vegas. I definitely paid my dues in that town as they say.
I originally moved to Vegas with my mother and we performed as a mother/daughter duo known as Morgan and Trinity. We started off playing celebrity showcases hosted by Sandy Hackett (Comedian Buddy Hackett’s son) and others at the Dunes, the Mint, the Landmark, the Sahara, Palace Station, Calamity’s Playhouse and many more. We quickly found ourselves surrounded by an elite group of musicians and performers. As Morgan and Trinity, we performed on shows with the original Imperials, the Ink Spots, Martin and Rossi, Bobby Berosini and his Orangutans, Blues great Joe Williams and so many more. Casino jobs always paid pretty well but expected you to play well-known cover tunes and really weren’t too keen on you playing your own original songs.
When I finally decided that there was no way that I could ever play or even listen to Pink Cadillac or Leaving Las Vegas ever again and that I only wanted to play my own original songs, I started over just like everyone else, trying to get established as an independent original Artist. It’s always been important to me that no matter what venue I played, that my show was always clean and family oriented where a child, my pastor or grandmother could walk in at any time and always feel welcomed with no worries of being offended in anyway.
I was invited and hired to play regularly at Borders Bookstores where I gained a large family following. After receiving many requests for my music CD’s, Borders decided to sell two of my Albums. I also played Underground Coffee Houses, Bars and Clubs either playing for free or free food and drinks or a super small portion of the door if you were lucky enough to play a Club that had a natural draw. I’ve always been very dedicated to putting on a quality show and I’m happy to say that my band ended up being one of the only original paid bands on the Las Vegas Music Scene. I now paid for my Chicken Fingers.
John and I were with the Lord, in the Word daily and going to Church but I was still playing in clubs and bars where lots of crazy things were going on. Things I wasn’t comfortable being around. Neither one of us were partaking in the lifestyle that usually comes along with playing in those places though. I just wanted and really needed to play. While I was up there playing my songs my husband was usually holding a Bible study somewhere in the back of the club. It seemed kind of funny at times. No matter where I played or how great the place, the audiences or the shows had been, I was still very unhappy. Something was definitely missing.
I felt that as an Artist I was taking the musical gifts that the Lord had blessed me with as a very young child and was just releasing it all into the atmosphere not really making a difference. Being known as the female Hendrix, playing in Vegas and around the world and pretty much receiving all the credit just felt so selfish to me and didn’t seem like much of a legacy to leave behind.
On a personal basis though, I always took the time to meet people who wanted to meet me and had lots of great conversations with lots of lovely people and made lots of new friends. I had men come up to me who had attended the original Woodstock with tears streaming down their faces and said that they were crying because they hadn’t heard Jimi Hendrix’s version of All Along the Watchtower played the way I played it that night since they saw him play it live in the 60’s. Of course, this always means so much to me because each of the very few cover songs that I play are definitely labors of love. I had listened to Watchtower countless times through the years and knew it well, but waited 10 years before I actually played it on stage in my own style.
I’ve never tried to emulate any particular Artists sound because that what makes them special and unique but when I sometimes play the songs of other Artists who have touched me in some way their signature sounds sometimes come flowing to the surface of my Voice or Guitar. I think this happens to most musicians who have a very diverse musical palate and a love and appreciation of sound.
I believe that one person can make a difference. I’ve always wanted my music to serve a greater purpose than gaining personal recognition in all ways giving it back to God, always being uplifting offering hope, encouragement, breaking racial barriers, representing love and peace. You could say I’m a dreamer, having faith in a better way of life (Lyrics from my song Dreamer). There is so much beauty in this world. So many wonders and I am always believing in and working toward getting back to the garden.
In the year 2000 the Lord called me out of the Las Vegas club scene and into music ministry. I dropped everything never looking back. Before I knew it, I had written enough material for two Christian albums and just prayed “well Lord, what do I do now?” My husband bought me a Roland VS-880 Digital Home Recording Studio that was considered top of the line back then. I decided on ten songs and I began recording my first Christian Album. All Songs, Vocals and Instruments were Written, Produced and Performed by me and the album was completed in just one week. This album was called Songs for the Soul and is a mixture of Electronica, Rock, Blues, Jazz and Acoustic. I was also recording a Rock and Blues Album at the time called Daydreams Nightdreams.
You can preview or download these Albums and additional tracks through CD Baby by following the links on the MP3 page.
I am currently in the studio recording my newest Christian Album to be released sometime in the near future.
